Abstract
Steroid induced osteonecrosis of the knee is a relatively uncommon disease and occurs primarily in patients younger than 50 years of age with immunocompromising disorders.

Compared with spontaneous osteonecrosis, steroid induced osteonecrosis produces a more diffuse pattern of bone necrosis and frequently occurs in bilaterally.

Although other treatment modalities have been reported, total knee arthroplasty can be considered as a successful procedure for steroid induced osteonecrosis.

We encountered the case of 69 year old female who was diagnosed as bilateral steroid induced osteonecrosis of the knee without underlying immunocompromised disorders.
